QuSecure Wins US Army SBIR Phase II Contract for Post-Quantum Cybersecurity Solutions
QuSecure™, Inc., a leader in post-quantum cybersecurity (PQC), has been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II Federal Government contract from the United States Army to develop quantum-resilient software solutions. This contract allows QuSecure to continue its research and development efforts towards quantum-safe technologies and encryption solutions for the U.S. Government. The contract, which is worth over $2 million, is dedicated to tactical edge and tactical IoT devices for battle-ready deployment.
The Move Towards Quantum-Safe Cybersecurity
The urgency to develop quantum-safe cybersecurity solutions for the U.S. Government was motivated by the Endless Frontiers Act established by the National Science Foundation to research emerging technologies, which includes quantum computing. Additionally, in December 2022, the Quantum Computing Cybersecurity Preparedness Act prioritized the migration of federal agencies to IT systems that use post-quantum cryptography.
QuSecure‘s Accomplishments in PQC
In Fall 2022, QuSecure won an SBIR Phase III Federal Government procurement contract for PQC solutions by the U.S. Air Force after conducting a successful PQC pilot project at a federal facility. The company also announced that it is the only PQC vendor that has earned the Phase III designation, which signifies its position as the Federal Government’s leading provider of PQC solutions. With QuSecure‘s success in the U.S. Air Force SBIR Phase III award, it has further established its cybersecurity credentials with the U.S. military.
QuSecure‘s QuProtect Solution
QuSecure‘s QuProtect solution is the most advanced quantum-safe solution that offers quantum-resilience for current critical communications, including network, cloud, IoT, edge devices, and satellite communications. With QuProtect, PQC can be established across all network devices with minimal disruption to existing systems, providing protection against existing classical and emerging quantum attacks. QuProtect can also resolve compliance challenges related to bring-your-own-device (BYOD) and work-from-home policies.
Advice
The move towards quantum-safe cybersecurity is a pivotal step towards protecting data against quantum-threats. With the increasing number of quantum attacks, adopting PQC solutions is essential for both government and commercial sectors to limit potential devastating attacks. Organizations must partner with reliable cybersecurity vendors with a proven track record, like QuSecure, to ensure their data and communications are secure.
Editorial
The QuSecure‘s achievement shows how private-industry partnership with the US military can be beneficial while still protecting the interests of the country. The US army might not have the in-house technological capabilities to develop quantum-resilient software solutions; hence, its partnership with QuSecure provided an opportunity to invest in PQC technology while advancing research and development efforts towards quantum-safe cybersecurity solutions. QuSecure‘s technology has proven to be a critical defense against quantum attacks and other cybersecurity threats.
Internet Security
It’s essential to take proper precautions when sharing sensitive information online. As an Internet user, always verify the authenticity of any websites collecting personal information. Additionally, use reliable antivirus software, secure passwords, and never open attachments or click on links in unsolicited emails. Taking these steps can help safeguard your computer and personal information from cybercriminals.
